Breaking Defense, a leading defense trade publication, is looking to hire an ambitious, curious reporter for a beat focused on the systems that make everything run inside the Department of Defense. As former Deputy Secretary of Defense Bob Work wrote recently, “We are past the tipping point where information and decision-centric capabilities are more important instruments of war than kinetic weapons.” The reporter who fills the Defense Networks and Emerging Technologies job will be the point person on covering those capabilities. At the core of the beat is covering the day-in-day-out of the billions of dollars the Pentagon spends every year on military networks and IT capabilities.
