Are you in search of a temporary yet fulfilling role? Look no further! We're thrilled to offer an exciting position for our client based in Greater London, London who are looking to appoint a Digital Content Editor for the 11 months ongoing, at the rate of £32.53 per hour umbrella.

About The Role

To oversee content on the Council's digital platforms, including its website and intranet. To do this, the role will develop and lead a content design community across the organisation, setting content standards and taking responsibility for ensuring content is up to date, consistent and meets expected standards. The role will be responsible for ensuring content on the website and intranet meet current accessibility standards and can be easily accessed and understood by our residents and staff and will work closely with colleagues in the Communications and IT teams.

Job responsibilities

To oversee, edit and curate the Council's website and intranet content.
To manage, train and update a community of content editors across the organisation, ensuring content is relevant, up to date, accessible and consistent.
To act as a key link between the Communications and IT teams, to support ongoing development of the Council's website and intranet and to ensure they support the Council's communications objectives
To take a direct role as content designer for our most complex services, creating and accessible content for our most vulnerable residents
To support the development of a content style guide for the organisation which reflects content design and brand standards, ensuring we speak to our users in consistent and accessible ways regardless of channel or service used
To support the development of a content direction and strategy, so we can transform how we communicate with our residents, businesses and staff
To create and enforce content standards, guidance and style and brand guidelines for the organisation
Work with the Digital Communications Manager and Head of Digital to develop, deliver and monitor a digital content strategy
To work closely with the wider Communications team to ensure the Council's priorities and objectives are met
To work closely with the IT team on the content management system to improve the user experience
To support new and improved digital services, collaborating with the multi-disciplinary software development team
Use analytics data, user feedback and user research to identify the needs of users, map user journeys and inform content strategy
To articulate the value of content design, coaching colleagues across the organisation to understand the connection between excellent content and excellent services

Requirements

Substantial experience of content creation and writing copy for websites S
Experience of writing succinct copy, aimed at different audiences S
Substantial experience of working in a professional communications capacity within large organisations
Experience of managing websites and intranet sites, and keeping them to up to date S
Experience of editing other content creators' work; providing advice and guidance; ensuring content is consistent and of the expected standard S
Experience of advising and training colleagues S
