Future of Finance Editor

Digital Frontier is a new London-based media and events company that steps beyond the daily news cycle to produce deeply reported stories on the future of business, finance and culture. We’re currently building out our team, before launching in December 2023.

This senior editorial role will report to the Editor in Chief and oversee a small team of reporters. The successful applicant would be expected to work at least three days a week from our office in central London.

Digital Frontier’s output will focus on longer-form exclusive articles, for publication online and in our quarterly print magazine.

Responsibilities

● Writing and editing exclusive articles on financial innovation, crypto technology, decentralised finance (DeFi), payments, etc., with unique angles that take readers far beyond the daily headlines.

● Hiring and developing a team of reporters

● Helping set editorial strategy

● Contributing to Digital Frontier’s audio and video output

● Providing editorial input for Digital Frontier’s events

● Representing Digital Frontier at events and moderating panels

● Attending regular editorial meetings, with at least three days a week in our office in central London

● Keeping the newsroom calendar up to date with relevant events

Skills

● 5+ years of experience as a reporter or editor in finance, business, crypto or a related field

● Keen news judgement and a wealth of creative story ideas

● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

● A proven track record of building contacts

● Ability to speak in public and on podcasts

● Ability to juggle competing deadlines and priorities

● Interest in crypto, fintech, blockchain and web3
