Writes promotional copy and inputs copy alterations for all circulation programs, including new prospect, Internet, renewals, billing, gift and insert programs, space ads and special projects.

Works closely with marketing team at project inception to set goals, formulate testing plan and execute promotions.

Teams up with graphic designers to ensure copy is clearly understood and appropriate graphic execution is achieved.

Proofreads consumer marketing copy at all stages. Works to ensure copy meets legal, departmental and Meredith standards.

Continually institutes and learns effective new ideas by studying competitor’s materials. Attends focus groups and presentations.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Creative Writing, Journalism or English.

Experience:

Ad Agency Copywriting or equivalent experience preferred.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong writing talent, preferably in direct response or editorial.

Understanding of advertising, promotion and graphic design.

Self-starter, leader.

Ability to work independently with minimal direction and editing.

Excellent command of language, editing and proofreading.

Must effectively manage many projects at once and work well under tight deadlines.

Ability to work closely with copywriters, designers, editors, marketers, and freelancers.
