The Transaction team at Dotdash Meredith is looking for a Senior Commerce Writer for PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly. This person will write stories about the best sales and deals on the internet, new product launches to know about now, and how to get a celebrity’s look for less, among other things.
They’ll also help our readers find what to buy at major sale events, including Presidents Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Amazon Prime Day. Most importantly, they’ll use affiliate links in these stories so that customers can purchase those products. The right candidates will be knowledgeable about online shopping, parsing data to make informed pitch decisions, and search keyword-driven content.
This is a full-time position. Writers must be based in the U.S., and they’ll have the option to work out of Dotdash Meredith’s New York office or remotely.
The day-to-day:
Pitch and write multiple stories per week from an editorial point of view.
Reach out to high-quality experts to provide background information and quotes as needed.
Help execute content plans around major holidays and sales events.
Attend and participate in weekly team meetings.
The right candidate is:
A strong editorial writer with at least 2 years of experience with commerce content.
Familiar with SEO and affiliate linking best practices.
Well-versed in a variety of shopping trends, product categories, pop culture subjects, and current celebrity news.
Familiar with the PEOPLE.com voice and audience.
Comfortable with digital media tools such as proprietary CMSes, keyword research tools and Google Analytics.
A college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field.

Pay Range
Salary: $44,800 - $64,000
