E&E News is looking for a reporting intern to support Energywire. Energywire is the leading source for the latest developments in the rapidly-changing traditional and alternative energy industries. Our team delivers comprehensive news and in-depth analysis of court decisions in the sector and delves into the business, political, and environmental ramifications of energy policy.

Our interns spend the bulk of their time reporting and writing. You’ll have access to senior federal agency officials and top leaders in the field. You’ll write news stories from day one. Subscribers have valued and trusted E&E News' timely and objective reporting for more than two decades. Now part of POLITICO, we are looking to enhance the E&E News product offering and speed growth of new subscribers. We dive deep on energy and environmental issues, covering the ins and outs of politics, science, policy and business.

We are looking for enterprising and creative journalists who want to report, write and research for an audience of political and policy junkies. The position is ideal for reporters with a year or two of experience or outstanding recent graduates.

What You'll Need:

Proven experience in a newsroom.
3-5 original clips to showcase your experience.

Ability to work well under pressure
An avid interest in Washington and energy/climate issues; interest in energy technology is a plus

Internship Start: November/December 2023
Hours: 40 per week
Compensation: $23/HR
