E&E News is hiring a transportation reporter with a focus on climate change. The ideal candidate is a sharp and nimble writer who can balance the fast pace of daily reporting with longer enterprise stories. Transportation emissions are a top climate challenge and it’s your job to explain how society is, or isn’t, tackling them. You should be organized and creative; we’re looking for an ambitious reporter who wants to break news. Responsibilities: You will write daily news items on tight deadlines about congressional hearings, automaker announcements and agency car rules. You will also pursue enterprise reporting on the revolution happening in our streets: How millions of people will give up gasoline cars for electric ones. Transportation emissions are the top source of U.S. greenhouse gases and it’s your job to explain what the president and lawmakers are doing about it — and what they’re failing to do. You will know details of legislation, agency rule-making, and executive actions. You will be expected to develop sources in Congress, agencies and industry. The reporter will contribute to all of the E&E News publications including Climatewire, E&E Daily and Greenwire.
