Job Summary: We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our team for a critical Active Directory (AD) Migration project. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in documenting the entire migration process, creating user guides, process manuals, and technical documentation to ensure a seamless transition from the current AD environment to the new one. The Technical Writer will work closely with the project team, IT experts, and stakeholders to ensure all necessary documentation is complete, clear, and up to date throughout the project.
Key Qualifications:
5+ years technical writing experience in an (Infrastructure support environment preferred)
Familiarity with Microsoft Project
Ability to coordinate/communicate with multiple parties to plan cutovers and explain impacts of AD migration.
Experience working with Service Now and Confluence Technical documentation for cloud migration, data flow, application migration is preferred
Create product documentation for end users and system administrators
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to provide work samples
Proven experience making technical content accessible to audiences with mixed levels of expertise
Understanding of source control systems and maintaining multiple versions of content
Ability to obtain information through research, interviews, and experimentation
Motivation and ability to be productive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Self-direction, flexibility, and an eagerness to learn
Familiarity with IT service management software (ITSM), PaaS, and SaaS
Analyze current product documentation to determine usability and make improvements as indicated
Continuously improve documentation by responding to and incorporating feedback from customers and internal users
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Technical Writing, Computer Science, Information Technology).
Proven experience in technical writing and documentation for IT projects, particularly AD migrations.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory, network infrastructure, and IT terminology.
Proficiency with documentation tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Project management experience is a plus.
