Memebase is a brand that’s all about internet culture: trending memes, spicy Reddit controversies, and whatever everyone is talking about on Twitter and TikTok. It’s a part of Cheezburger, which also includes other iconic brands like Fail Blog, ICanHasCheezburger, and Geek Universe.

We’re looking for a full-time editor to join the team. That means you’ll be working on listicles and articles, searching for fun and trending topics to write about, writing several pieces of engaging content a day, and occasionally editing the work of others. You will also take part in managing all of Memebase’s social media assets. You will work from our lovely office in Brooklyn (and sometimes from home, where you’ll be supported by a team of highly experienced editors. Our focus is on creating a fun experience for our audience, with strong emphasis on data-based performance.

We're looking for internet nerds who want to work in a fun and creative environment, making content that people want to read and engage with.

Responsibilities:

Find appropriate content for the site
Help manage Memebase’s social media assets (Facebook, Pinterest, IG, TikTok)
Stay up to date on relevant cultural events and trending topics
Work within the team to brainstorm the next fun/engaging thing for our users to enjoy
Use tools like Chartbeat to track and analyze the performance of your pieces
Write 5-6 pieces per day

Requirements:

Professional writing experience (2+ years preferred)
Must be internet savvy
Strong communication skills
Highly organized and quick on the keyboard
Commitment to a positive, cooperative outlook
A good eye for graphics and ability to work with tools like Canva
Be able to work independently and commit to meeting goals and targets

Hours: Full Time

Location: Our office at Greenpoint , Brooklyn, NY

Start Date: ASAP

Salary range: 50k-60k depending on seniority
