Tampa Bay Newspapers Inc. is seeking a full-time bilingual (English/Spanish) editor to help head up Latin American coverage for our Spanish language publication. We are seeking a self-motivated journalist who has a desire to become embedded in the Tampa Bay Hispanic community and help give it a voice by telling its stories. The ideal candidate would have writing, editing and design experience, and can translate copy from English to Spanish quickly and accurately. Besides editing duties, the candidate would also be responsible for writing at least two stories each week. Other responsibilities include working collaboratively with reporters and freelancers to orchestrate coverage for a weekly print edition and consistent flow of digital content. A college degree in journalism and experience at a newspaper is preferable. Photography, InDesign and multimedia skills are a plus. Knowledge of AP style and grammar is a necessity. Recent college graduates will be considered. This is a position with flexible hours that will include a combination of writing, editing and design. Some weekend work would likely be needed.
