Title: Associate Editor
Location: Remote
Job Summary: To assist with content creation and organization for print and digital platforms, along with print production, organizing content for e-newsletters, managing social media
accounts, curating content for the website, and managing print supplement projects.
Essential Job Function:
Edit, organize and manage editorial content for print and digital platforms in content management system
Write feature articles and columns on industry-related topics (includes finding sources, creating interview questions, conducting interviews).
Provide input, proof, and assist with approval process for print and website content, as well as participation in editorial planning meetings, administrative tasks, returning correspondence, and organizing content
Create and organize newsletter content
Edit layout pages and provide assistance with print production process.
Organize and write verbiage and content to feature on social media platforms.
Other duties as assigned
Core Competencies: The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong writing/editing skills and the
ability to juggle multiple projects under tight time constraints. The candidate will be digitally savvy, with a strong understanding of social media best practices. Knowledge of the automotive repair industry is a plus, but not required. Must be a team player and a strong communicator.
Qualifications:
Strong copy editing/proofreading skills. Knowledge of AP style and adaptable to internal style, with a firm understanding of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Proficiency with computers required. Experience with InCopy, Word Office Suite, and PremierPro preferred.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Solid time management skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms and management - Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok
Proven ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple assignments
Ethical newsgathering practices
Knowledge/enthusiasm/previous reporting experience on the automotive repair industry ideal, but not required.
Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or applicable
field.
1-3 years of experience in journalism, communication, or a related field.
Primarily works in office setting, with requirements to travel to industry events at times.
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the OTE for this position is $40,000-45,000/yr.
