FairWarning (www.fairwarning.org), a nonprofit investigative news organization based in Southern California, is seeking an editor/reporter to join our small, hard-working team. We’re looking for a dedicated team player who shares our sense of mission, with strong news judgment and deft writing touch, and a demonstrated ability to handle detailed investigative and explanatory stories, both as an editor and reporter.

FairWarning is nearing our 11th anniversary. We produce deeply reported stories that appear on our website and in print, online and broadcast editions of dozens of media outlets across the country. We focus on public health, consumer, labor and environmental issues, and related topics of government and business accountability. Candidates should be able to take the lead in editing stories assigned to them, both in-depth stories and shorter turnarounds; work one-on-one with
reporters and freelancers to shape drafts, and help to edit a weekly newsletter. The job will require both editing and reporting, with more time devoted to editing.
