As one of the functions in Editorial, Digital & Design, the Digital Content team runs the FCA’s corporate website: the organisation’s key communications channel. It sets the publishing standards for the FCA, including digital best practice and UX, using our clear content guidelines and ensuring user accessibility.
The team publishes and edits a wide variety of FCA content working daily in our website content management system. This includes our corporate publications, Annual Report, Business Plan and consultations through to news items and data, as well as our information for consumers, financial services firms and markets helping them to understand our expectations and engage with us. We are responsible for ensuring the best experience when users visit our site whether it is a firm we regulate or a consumer who needs help.
We work in a fast-paced communications environment, on high profile issues, managing multiple projects and stakeholders, working to tight deadlines and striving to produce high quality, engaging products and channels.
We work in a team with other content editors and graphic designers, and with the wider Communications division, other internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
What You Will Be Doing (the Role)

This is an exciting role for a digital editor with strong technical skills and a passion for clear, accessible content creation to help shape how the FCA engages with firms and consumers online.
This role sits with the wider digital team publishing content using the most suitable format. The role requires flexibility to work alongside colleagues including taking turns covering out of hours work.
This role will suit someone who is energetic, proactive and has great organisational skills. You will be an experienced digital editor with some data layout experience.
You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. And you are confident in digital best practice, SEO, content management systems, analytics and agile content delivery – resulting in excellent digital project management skills.
The Post Holder Will

Take technical information and turn it into useful digital content for readers, using excellent stakeholder management skills to ensure it is clear as well as accurate
Be able to advise colleagues on the appropriate channel(s) to use, and be enthusiastic about promoting digital best practice and a focus on user needs
Have great organisational skills, and be able to manage several projects at once to meet strict publishing deadlines
Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to form successful and productive working relationships with colleagues at different levels of the FCA
Have great attention to detail, be creative, used to juggling priorities and solving problems in a pragmatic way
Be an expert in plain language, inspiring others by sharing expertise and championing clear content
