Acting Assistant Analysis Editor (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for an editor to join the Big Read team here at the Financial Times on an initial fixed term contract. This is an exciting chance to work on one of the most high-profile sections of the FT. It could be an excellent opportunity for an early career journalist or for a reporter looking to transition to editing. The position will initially focus on big reads. The successful candidate will primarily do second edits on articles and commission and organise graphics and other visual elements for big reads for both paper and print, working closely with the features production desk, design team and picture desk. Over time, you’ll also be the lead editor on some big reads, and generate and commission ideas, as well as maintaining close collaboration with reporters and correspondents. As the new longform desk begins to take shape at the start of next year, the candidate is also likely to have the opportunity to edit other features, including working on new ideas with the visual story-telling team and longer-term projects.
