The Financial Times is looking for an experienced reporter to be our Asia financial correspondent, based in Hong Kong. This is an exciting opportunity for a tenacious reporter who can break stories across the region on financial institutions, mergers and acquisitions and IPOs as well as follow the money trail in and out of Asia. We want to be the first to tell our readers about the deals Asian companies are striking around the world and the personalities behind the money flows. The ideal candidate will be able to cultivate sources inside foreign and Chinese investment banks to figure out who is capturing the fees and who is falling behind in this incredibly competitive environment. We also need someone who can report the Asia end of the HSBC and Standard Chartered story. We want to cover venture capital and private equity, particularly in China, as well as the successes and failures of dealmakers across Asia from KKR to CKI. There’s a strong appetite for stories on private banking, insurance and regulation.
