Financial Times

Ireland Correspondent
The Financial Times is looking for an Ireland correspondent, based in Dublin. The role suits an energetic and inventive journalist keen to write for all sections of the FT.

Ireland has grown into a prosperous, self-confident nation with a strong voice in the EU and the eurozone particularly on tax, tech, data protection and financial issues. Its politics are in a state of flux, with its two traditional parties of government entering an unprecedented coalition to keep an insurgent Sinn Fein out of power. Its economy bounced back after the eurozone crisis and its banking sector has returned to health but Ireland’s performance is flattered by the contribution of a handful of big multinationals.

Ireland is the EU country that will be most affected by Brexit, with or without a trade deal. Covering the implications of Britain’s EU departure for Irish business, finance and politics will inevitably be a big priority.
