Forbes’ Corporate Communications Team seeks a strategic, motivated and passionate Manager, Corporate Communications who is a strong writer, detail-oriented and solid multi-tasker. This position reports to our VP of Corporate Communications. This role will be responsible for supporting communications on press releases, strategic pitches, thought leadership opportunities, Forbes LIVE events, among other areas. The ideal candidate must have a strong track record for results. They must also demonstrate passion for news and the digital media business and be a champion of entrepreneurial capitalism and success.

This role must be based in the NY/NJ tri-state area and will be required to be onsite on a regular cadence for Forbes events. This position also requires occasional travel for internal and external events.

Responsibilities:

Build and manage relationships with key reporters and broadcast producers to share and promote stories and lists published by Forbes’ editorial team.
Create strategies and build buzz around brand extensions, partnerships and collaborations in partnership with our executive team.
Position Forbes editors and reporters as thought leaders in their distinctive areas – exploring opportunities at live/virtual events, media interviews, podcasts, broadcast guests, etc.
Position Forbes and its executives as thought leaders in media, technology, advertising, marketing, entrepreneurship and several other distinctive areas.
Ensure consistency of messaging and alignment with PR strategies and priorities.
Create targeted, strategic media lists (Newspaper, Radio, TV, and Online contacts) as needed for Forbes pitches using Cision and other research tools.
Evaluate interview requests for Forbes editorial team members and handle media bookings once approved.
Craft proactive, strategic pitches that advance Forbes editorial mission and support Forbes’ business.
Write press releases, media invitations, bios and other content that can be leveraged across multiple platforms.
Assist with media outreach leading up to and during Forbes’ custom events or LIVE summits.
Support employee communications – including the Culture + Community Newsletter, Life@Forbes Instagram, and other key projects.
Develop and post content to Forbes’ PR Twitter account to promote content.
Proactively flag news coverage that’s relevant to Forbes.
Support issues management when needed.
Work with PR agencies to share opportunities and keep projects moving forward.

The Ideal Candidate:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
2-3 years in public relations or corporate communications – with either agency and/or in-house experience.
Experience working with PR tools such as Cision.
Experience with media monitoring.
Must be a quick-thinker, able to trouble-shoot and be a creative problem solver.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities combined with effective interpersonal skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet hard deadlines.
Must be comfortable working closely with leadership.
Must be analytical and comfortable performing research.
Strong presentation skills are essential.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced corporate environment with an entrepreneurial mindset.

The annual base salary range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000.
