Position Overview
The Production Team is responsible for creating all new Forbes Marketplace web pages and optimising existing pages via the CMS across the numerous Forbes Marketplace properties.
This is in order to meet customer needs and ultimately deliver the business SEO strategy. The team has grown quickly and continues to do so, producing 1500+ pieces of content per month, with new areas of responsibility arriving regularly.
This specialist role is fundamental to the business’ success, monitoring our intake and
coordinating our production activity across our new property - ‘USA TODAY Blueprint’, ensuring we are able to publish content quickly, accurately and to a high standard first time.
A typical day in the life of a Deputy Content Manager involves working with the Deputy Head of Publishing and Content Managers to prioritise and assign production workload across the Content Producers, Interns and Trainees in your verticals of responsibility. You will be in regular contact with the team ensuring that the most important activity is being worked on, peer reviewing their output and supporting the team with any CMS help and guidance they may need.

Responsibilities
● Continuously monitor intake and assign production workload across Content
Producers and Interns in your verticals of responsibility, ensuring each individual
has the correct balance of workload which is prioritized against business focus Blockers & flags raised with team management and requester.
● Line management and day to day support of Content Producers and Interns within your area. You are expected to mentor and develop them in their careers
as well as ensure they are supported in their day-to-day workload by helping to resolve authoring issues.
● Peer reviewing formatting work from Content Producers and Interns against tight timescales. Ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained throughout all production.
● Formatting a range of articles and content types when needed. You are expected
to be able to use the most advanced CMS features across your areas of responsibility.
● Organise training of new team members and ensure they’re able to operate independently
● Identify CMS issues and propose solutions. Raise with the Deputy Head of Publishing for fixing.
● Work with Content Producers, Interns and Trainees to identify and solve formatting issues using your advanced CMS knowledge. Making team management aware of capacity flags well in advance of them becoming an issue.

Skills and Experience
● This role requires someone who can work in an agile manner and juggle multiple priorities concurrently across many different product types and verticals. You will almost always be dealing with several concurrent workstreams, each demanding your attention, where you need to prioritise accordingly.
● WordPress CMS experience is crucial and we require two years plus experience of using the most advanced authoring features in Wordpress. We’re looking for someone who enjoys using CMS’ and exploiting the opportunities they present to the business as well as training others in how to use it.
● You will be expected to deal with many stakeholders, primarily within the Production Team but also outside of the team when needed. The ability to constructively engage with them and challenge back when necessary is important, as well as the ability to keep a cool head under pressure.
● Line management experience where delegation and appraisal was involved is also a must. You will enjoy developing more junior team members through guidance and mentorship.
● You must have experience peer reviewing others' work, identifying any formatting issues that need resolving before the content is put live, ranging from missing content to incorrectly configured WordPress components.
● Development skills are not a must but an understanding of technologies such as HTML, CSS and Javascript is important.
● You need to have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of SEO and their importance to a website's success, able to identify and resolve basic issues and flag those that could cause SEO detriment.
● Finally, quality is paramount in the content we produce so a high level of attention to detail is vital whilst continuing to ensure we hit our daily volume quotas
