Job Description

Marketplace is looking for an editor with investing expertise and editing experience to join the Marketplace team as Lead Editor. With the investing editor role, we aim to provide quality content on a wide range of investing topics, including retirement savings tools and online brokerages.

Responsibilities:

Help the Editorial Director build and scale investing content efforts
Find, recruit and set up freelancers with investing writing expertise. Train and support freelancers on how to use Marketplace tools and style guides
Hire, train and support deputy editors and writers for your team
Work with the Content team to build best practices for investing and saving content strategies, including content, templates, imagery and social media standards
Be the media spokesperson for the investing vertical as needed
Leverage data and SEO best practices to create monthly topics for freelancers that include explanatory content, how-tos, roundups, best-ofs and reviews
Work collaboratively with the global editorial team
Create rubrics to evaluate, rate and rank related products and services for best-ofs (example: Best Online Brokerages)

Requirements:

3-5 years of experience as an investing editor
Good understanding of investing-centric concepts
Experience with SEO best practices, willingness to learn and expand SEO skills
Extremely organized and detail-oriented
Nimble and open to quick changes in strategy
Familiarity with Airtable a plus
