General Assignment Reporter

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram is looking for a general assignment news reporter to focus on daily coverage of stories that affect Fort Worth and surrounding areas, writing about a variety of topics, moving fast when news breaks and producing deeper stories that make a difference in the lives of our readers. That means living and working in the Fort Worth area to build sources, using a myriad of tools to generate strong story ideas and developing a keen understanding of what’s important to local audiences. It will require enthusiastic participation in ongoing conversations about what’s working and what’s not — and an equally enthusiastic commitment to adapting accordingly. The ideal candidate for this position is a person who loves building relationships, is highly organized and is a strong communicator and collaborator who thrives working on a team. This is an on-call position, up to 40 hours per week.
