Fortune Europe seeks an experienced and dynamic Executive Editor - Fortune Europe, to lead our editorial initiatives and content development across Europe. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the editorial direction, content strategies, and events that establish Fortune as a premier business and leadership brand in Europe. The role focuses on the European audience and editorial development in European print, events, and digital. Reporting to the role will be Europe List Editor, Europe Production Editor, and two Europe News Writers.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Collaboration
Act as a strategic partner to the Managing Director of Europe to continue to build the presence of Fortune in Europe, contributing to the overall growth and success of the brand in the region.
Collaborate closely across the entire Fortune organization to develop innovative editorial franchises, content ideas, events, lists, and other products that resonate with European audiences and align with Fortune's brand identity, building on the existing work of our established teams worldwide.
Team Management
Provide leadership and strategic direction to the UK/Europe editorial team, setting the tone for the publication's content and maintaining the highest standards of journalistic integrity.
Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a team of talented editors, writers, and other content creators responsible for producing high-quality editorial content across various formats, including articles, features, reports, videos, infographics, events, etc.
Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and editorial excellence within the editorial team.
Editorial Oversight
Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with Fortune’s brand identity and resonates with its target audience, encompassing print, digital, events, social, and other platforms.
Assign, edit, and guide the development of editorial news and feature stories that provide insightful, accurate, and engaging coverage of European business, leadership, and economic trends for European and global audiences.
Optimize content for various platforms, including Fortune.com and the Europe edition, ensuring it resonates with target audiences and adheres to Fortune's editorial standards.
Stay abreast of evolving media trends and technologies, identifying opportunities to innovate and optimize content and delivery methods to engage a diverse and evolving audience.
Strategic Events and Conferences
Conceptualize, plan, and execute high-profile events, panels, conferences, and roundtables that cater to European C-Suite executives, business decision-makers, and thought leaders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of events, from ideation to execution.
Serve as a public face of Fortune editorial, representing the brand at industry events, conferences, and through media appearances.
Performance Metrics and Evaluation
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for editorial initiatives.
Monitor and evaluate performance against established metrics, driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Proven track record of editorial leadership and experience in a senior editorial role within a reputable media organization. At least five full-time years in a senior editorial leadership role is strongly preferred.
Deep understanding of UK, European and global business, economic, and leadership landscape, with the ability to identify and articulate relevant trends and insights.
Exceptional team management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a diverse group of editorial professionals.
Strong interpersonal skills, including collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, senior executives, and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to stay abreast of evolving media trends and technologies, identifying opportunities to innovate and optimize content delivery methods to engage a diverse and evolving audience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including crafting and editing compelling content that aligns with Fortune's editorial tone and voice.
Experience conceptualizing and organizing high-profile events, conferences, or similar initiatives.
Proficiency in digital media tools, content management systems, and analytics platforms.
Based in London and willing to work in the office at least three days a week, with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time in-office schedule.
Executive Editor - Fortune Europe will report directly to the Managing Director of Europe.
