FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

Job Description

Work closely with the news reporting staff and help oversee daily news/content gathering efforts to provide timely, high quality news coverage of broadcasts. Work closely with the VP/News Director, Executive Producers of newscasts, Director of the Web and producers for the various broadcasts to ensure effective communication and coordination among producers, reporters and staff. Coordinate editorial workflow between field personnel, digital staff to ensure accurate and timely cross platform of news content. Provide leadership and direction for reporters and editors on daily news gathering. Assign daily coverage and enterprise story development working with assignment editors, desk and web producers. Manage daily and weekly news planning process via daily reporter calls, meeting with newsroom personnel, either with text and/or written communication. Work with show producers and directors to create a powerful screen with information and content for our viewers. Work with Fox O&Os on obtaining and sharing of video for major stories and enterprise reporting stories. Work with Assignment Desk to identify and request video to support daily news coverage. Develop and create a productive and positive partnership between TV news and Web producers. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

5-10 years of news editorial experience. Minimum 3-5 years as Executive Producer. College degree preferred. Ability to work on deadline, management and time management skills. Forward thinker to plan for short and long term editorial calendar. Familiarity with social media, Twitter, Facebook, mobile platforms etc. Self-starter with demonstrated initiative. Strong communicator, with verbal and written skills.
