FOX21 News seeks a Full-Time Weekend Morning Meteorologist for our 2 hour morning show. We are looking for someone that possesses the skills to deliver a dynamic and engaging weathercast in a very conversational style that matches our measured approach and not “over-the-top” weather brand. Our ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who values being part of a healthy, collaborative, high-performing team.
During the week this position will work in the weather center with a focus our weather app and other digital content, in addition to climate and explainer segments during the morning or early evening newscasts. Creativity is encouraged as we strive to continuously push our storytelling and use of graphics systems. When weather is active this position will be out in the field providing television and digital reports in our Storm Squatch chase vehicle.
On rare occasions the position may be asked to cover a general reporting shift in the newsroom when staffing is short.
At least 2-3 years on-air as a meteorologist is required, knowledge of IBM MAX is a plus and an AMS and or NWA seal is preferred. College degree in Meteorology or related major is also preferred.
COMPENSATION RANGE:
Annual Salary: $40,000 -$50,000 commensurate with experience
