Freelance Journalist

The Dallas Examiner is accepting applications for a Special Assignments Freelance Journalist. Average pay is $300 per story. Candidates must know AP Style and be familiar with the African American community. Print journalism experience is a plus. Good writing style, grammar and spelling are very important for the position. Candidates should possess an interested in in-depth research, including interviews and requesting documents, photos and other materials. Team meetings are mandatory and are held on Thursdays. The position term is 6 months. There is a three-week probationary period. Candidates must sign an agreement to take on assignments from Jan. 1-June 30, 2023. Candidates may be considered for long-term contracts after 6 months.
