Freelance News Writer, TechHive (Contract, Part Time)

TechHive, the only consumer-tech website 100 percent dedicated to smart home and home entertainment products, is looking for a freelance news writer. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of the smart home and home entertainment spaces, as well as excellent writing chops. We’re looking for someone to write two short news articles a day (250 to 350 words each), five days a week, pitching and completing assignments in the morning during U.S. east coast hours. The job requires communicating with a TechHive editor over Slack messages every weekday morning. You’ll scan the latest smart home and home entertainment news headlines, pitch articles to our editor over Slack, get assignment approvals, and then write your news posts on a custom version of WordPress. We have other writers working in a similar fashion and find they can pitch and complete two 300-word articles in about 60 to 90 minutes. Knowing our product categories and new writing speed will be the keys to your success.
