Freelance Snow Sports Writers

Andrew Hirschfeld, Founding Editor in Chief of City and Slopes:

Big announcement! I am excited to be the founding editor in chief of a new publication called City and Slopes. It’s a publication designed for the NYC based snow sport enthusiast. We’re talking about stories about travel, gear, health, food and much more. With the help of the people at OVRRIDE, we are going to hit the presses later this fall for our first issue.

At this time I’ve commissioned seven writers but am looking for a few more. The outstanding pieces that need to be assigned focus on gear, food and beverage (cocktails specifically) and air travel.

We also need subjects for a handful of photos that will be used in the magazine. We are also looking for a few photographers who can help out too. I am open to illustrators too! This is a great opportunity for a debut if you are new to the space.

On a personal note, my existing responsibilities and roles will not change. I’ll still serve as The Business Report anchor and national business reporter for Newsnet. I’m still writing enterprising stories for Al Jazeera English. I’m still writing freelance stories for outlets like The Daily Beast, Slate, TPM, Time Out Magazine, Eater. The WFHishNYC newsletter will continue as is. You can still catch me talking about all this on platforms like Ticker News, Google’s Tell Me Something Good Podcast and NPR.
