Role Description

This is a paid contract role for a Freelance Science Writer. We have recently launched a new channel - The Entire History of Humankind: https://www.youtube.com/@HistoryofHumankind which follows a similar structure to our other channels - covering human evolution from the first primates to the present day in 45 minute long narrative driven documentaries. As such, we are looking for creative, yet informative writers who would be interested in writing an episode for us, or perhaps more.

Our videos are long-form that aim to mix a narrative style with mind-blowing science. There is no 'presenter', it is more of an audiobook that is supplemented by images. Hopefully watching the first five minutes of any of our videos so far can help clarify:

Qualifications

Experience in Science journalism or science writing
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific concepts into engaging, accessible content for a general audience (the ability to tell a good story!)
Experience in content creation
Bachelors degree or higher in a scientific field, preferably with a major/keen interest in human evolution
A Biology Degree or similar is preferred
Experience with video scripts writing is a plus
Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines and take on constructive feedback
