Staff Writer, Marine

The Future Marine group is looking to hire a Staff Writer to join our market leading set of boating and sailing brands. If you’re a digital writer or digital media specialist with a can-do attitude and a passion for writing engaging audience-first content, we want to hear from you!

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Digital Editor, as Staff Writer you'll be responsible for creating audience first digital content using SEO best practices and uploading content from the four magazines in the portfolio (Motor Boat & Yachting, Yachting World, Practical Boat Owner and Yachting Monthly). You'll also be responsible for running the brand social media channels and so will have up to date knowledge of and be enthusiastic about Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…

Understanding of and a background in social media including an understanding of the key different social platforms and their nuances, best practices and latest developments.
A strong understanding of writing for digital publishing including search engine optimisation best practise.
Strong time management and organisational skills; an ability to prioritise effectively.
Visual and photo editing skills, familiarity with simple video editing, Adobe Suite, etc.
Experience of commissioning freelance writers would be a bonus.

The expected range for this role is £24,000 - £28,000.
