B. Riley House is an LGBTQIA+ Drug and Alcohol Treatment facility in Cleveland, Ohio. We provide all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and our allies a temporary, safe, affirming, recovery-oriented living space. We offer alcohol and drug treatment services, mental health assessment and treatment, as well as psychotherapy to help each individual along their journey into long-term recovery from substance abuse challenges.
Position Summary
The Grant Writer will play a crucial role in securing and managing grants to support the agency’s mission and initiatives. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching and identifying potential funding opportunities, and developing grant proposals..
Duties include:
Research and obtain leads for potential funders.
Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to build and maintain relationships with potential funders, identify new opportunities, and strategically pursue funding opportunities.
Coordinate the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals and reports to corporate, foundation and institutional funders.
Generate revenue for programs through timely submission of well-researched, well written and well-documented proposals.
Create high-quality proposals, narratives, applications and supporting documents in response to RFPs.
Assist the Executive Director and Program Manager in developing comprehensive grant strategies, that align with the agency's goals and objectives.
Verify requirements of funding opportunities when department leaders inquire or share an opportunity.
Coordinate and follow-up on the progress of pending proposals.
Coordinate with the Accounting & Finance Team to create proposal budgets.
Advocate for the agency’s mission and impact, using proposal writing skills to engage potential funders and supporters and build awareness of the agency’s work.
Work with members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and submit concept papers and grant proposals.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate has at least 3 years of grant writing experience. The candidate must have proven experience in grant writing, with a track record of successful grant applications and securing funding from diverse sources. A strong understanding and familiarity of the nonprofit sector, funding sources, fundraising strategies, grant-making processes. Experience in researching, writing, and editing proposals, reports, and other fundraising materials is essential.
