The Energy Project (https://energyproject.org), an educational initiative for high school students focused on renewable energy entrepreneurship and environmental resilience workforce development, seeks a skilled and experienced Grant Writer for a part-time, remote position. The role is for a three-month period beginning in March 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and goals.
Develop and write compelling grant proposals, applications, and letters of inquiry.
Collaborate with program staff to gather information and data necessary for grant proposals.
Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and deadlines.
Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and submit timely applications.
Track and report on the progress of grant applications and awards.
Conduct prospect research to identify potential funding sources.
Assist in the development of program budgets for grant proposals.
Experience:
Proven experience in technical writing, specifically in grant writing.
Strong strategic planning skills to identify funding opportunities and develop effective grant proposals.
Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
Knowledge of contract management principles and experience in writing contracts is preferred.
Ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive narratives for grant applications.
Experience in financial report writing to accurately report on the use of grant funds.
Demonstrated ability to develop programs that align with funder priorities.
Candidate Profile:
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Not an entry-level position; previous experience in grant writing or a related field is required.
Compensation:
Hourly rate of $27, not exceeding a total of 40 hours every month.
Additional Information:
Bi-weekly 30-minute progress update meetings every Tuesday and Thursday.
Use of time tracking software to document tasks and hours.
