Editor

Lee Enterprises is seeking an experienced editor for the Greene County Record, a weekly newspaper in Stanardsville, Virginia. This editor would report to the editor for the Central Virginia weeklies operation, which includes weekly publications in Madison and Orange counties.

Candidates should have experience writing and editing local government, education, business and sports stories, as well as editorials and columns. The job focuses on planning content and working with freelance writers and photographers.

This job requires a candidate to be a self-starters who can multitask and juggle breaking news and longer-term story planning. A qualified candidate would also have a knack for developing strong community connections, maintaining a social media media presence and making great local content – from stories to photos to video and more – the top priority.
