The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain engineering and safety-related written standards that define the safe & compliant operation, maintenance and modification of facilities infrastructure and assets across WREF sites, in full alignment with the business strategies for R&D, Pharma US, Pharma Europe, and corporate operating lines

Author and maintain program procedures that define a standard approach for the safe and compliant management of engineering infrastructure assets maintained by WREF such as water systems, pressure systems, lifting equipment, waste and electrical systems. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to define technical content.
Author and maintain written standards (e.g. Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions) covering the management of environmental, health & safety risks associated with the operation and modification of facilities and engineering infrastructure assets such as construction/demolition activities, third party contractor management, waste management, environmental and emissions, process safety, machinery safety and Permit to Work. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to define technical content.
Author and maintain site-based controlled operating instructions for complex utility systems such as boilers, chillers, compressors, emergency generators and cooling towers. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to define technical content.
Manage the routing, approval and administration of written standards in GSK’s controlled document repository systems.
Support the coordination, assignment and tracking of technical and safety-related training curricula for GSK and outsourced contract engineering partner staff using GSK’s learning platform.
Develop and maintain supplemental materials used to train out written standards to GSK and outsourced contract engineering partner personnel. Support the delivery and rollout of classroom training to staff.
Maintain and administer updates to other engineering documentation used to demonstrate safe & compliant facility & equipment operation such as risk assessments, statutory written schemes and manufacturer equipment manuals.
Maintain up to date knowledge of facility and engineering safety legislation.

Basic qualifications:
BS Degree in an engineering related discipline is required
Mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering or Environmental Health & Safety.
experience in engineering, facility operations or Health & Safety support services.
Experience with management of facilities service contracts
Familiar with mechanical, electrical and process engineering infrastructure systems..
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
Must be able to work in a complex environment taking a balanced view across all interested parties and across business lines.
