Senior Staff Writer

Hartford Business Journal, the state’s leading business-to-business publication, is seeking a senior staff writer to take over some of our most important beats — commercial real estate, banking and finance and economic development — and help be a leader in our newsroom. This is a position that opens up rarely within our news department, which is growing. While many newspapers have shrunk considerably over the past year, HBJ will actually come out of the pandemic with more reporters. We also aren’t corporately-owned. We are a small privately-held company with owners who are investing and growing our brand. The senior staff writer should be an enterprising journalist who can develop sources and their own story ideas and has ambitions to take on increasing responsibilities down the road. The main job duties include writing stories for print and online and covering beats that are at the very core of a business journal.
