UFC Writer

Heavy, a leading sports news and information website, is looking to partner with a hard-charging, entrepreneurial freelance contributor to write about the most exciting storylines surrounding the UFC and its biggest stars.

Successful contributors should be able to demonstrate:

A passion for and deep understanding of UFC
A track record of professional sports coverage (combat sports preferred)
Proven ability to vet, verify and confirm information
Ability to produce clean and polished copy
An understanding of news cycles and sports media trends
Ability and desire to react rapidly to on-and-off-field breaking news
Strong multi-tasking and communication skills
Ability to quickly navigate social media to spot news and find additional information after a story breaks

Work autonomously and remotely. Heavy's editors are available for support but do not make assignments.

Compensation includes a monthly $500 retainer, and scales with performance.
