USC’s Office of Graduate Admission is seeking a Communications Assistant to join its team from October 1, 2023 – May 31, 2024. The Graduate/International Communications assistant will correspond via email with current and prospective applicants during peak period of graduate admission cycle.

The role will notify students , utilizing established templates, of their application status, advises them of university policies and procedures, receives and processes missing documentation, corrects and updates personal information in files, reviews and approves applicant fee waiver requests, and refers applicants to other offices/departments as appropriate. Training will be provided for the role.

The Selected Candidate Must Have Proven Ability To

Work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment with competing deadlines
Prioritize, pay attention to detail, be a team player and be organized
Have a customer-service focus and strong interpersonal communication skills
Utilize technical and computer skills, including the ability to work with databases and conduct extensive research
Work independently as well as in a collaborative team setting
Be comfortable with working with diverse personalities and professional working styles
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Providing timely replies to applicant queries, and culturally sensitive interaction with students of many different national backgrounds and levels of English proficiency (over 50% of applicants are international)

The hourly rate for this position is $22.00.
