The mission of The New York Times is to seek the truth and help people understand the world. That means independent journalism is at the heart of all we do as a company. It’s why we have a newsroom that’s 1,700 strong and sends journalists to report on the ground from nearly 160 countries. It’s why we focus deeply on how our readers will experience our journalism, from print to audio to a world-class digital and app destination. And it’s why our business strategy centers on making journalism so good that it’s worth paying for. Wirecutter is seeking an updates writer to help keep our catalog of PC, networking, and mobile consumer tech product reviews and recommendations useful and up-to-date. As an updates writer, you will report to the Computers & Networking team’s supervising editor and work with a small group of writers and editors in a fully remote team. You’ll be making changes to live content owned by this team both proactively and reactively. You will be directly involved in our cyclical planning process, collaborating with writers, editors, and our SEO team to map out and execute on sweeps and updates for reviews and other posts, while also monitoring stock issues and other product news that affects our coverage. This role has the potential to be remote.
