We’re looking for a reporter to write about the fast-developing world of augmented reality and virtual reality. This reporter would lead our Reality Check newsletter and contribute journalism to all areas of The Information. As Meta Platforms, Microsoft, Snap and soon Apple have demonstrated—releasing headsets and AR glasses—this industry is one of intense focus for big tech companies, as well as many other firms, from Sony to ByteDance. It’s likely to be the next technology platform, eventually taking over from smartphones.
