Since 2013, People.Health has transformed how public health organizations work. We are a small, but dynamic team of developers, designers and delivery managers that support large scale public health initiatives for Federal Agencies (CDC), State and Local Health Departments, Community-based Organizations (CBO) and other organizations that serve the health needs of local populations.

Users of our solutions are both those that deliver healthcare (providers, epidemiologists, health educators, case investigators, therapists, etc.) and those that receive care (patients, citizens, active military and their beneficiaries).

At base, this job is about helping us articulate solution successes, vision and mission.

What We Need

We are looking for an individual who has experience creating client-facing presentations, client-facing report writing, social media posting, and general PR communications. It is also important to have experience working alongside public health officials and/or pharmaceutical companies.

Successful applicants will also need to demonstrate strong aptitude project managing communication efforts from start to finish.

This position is responsible for project managing all phases of that content development. Note: The individual does not need to have layout or art direction experience. People.Health has a team of graphic artists.

What You Would Be Doing

The writer position will need to combine knowledge of public health, some medical/scientific journaling, pharmaceutical industry and bring a whole lot of creativity. You must have a desire to work on a variety of subjects and enjoy sharing knowledge and promoting best practice.

Responsibilities would also include:

Researching, writing, proofreading, and editing a variety of People.Health activities.
Conducting comprehensive literature searches to enhance background understandings and evaluations of information to be written.
Translating technical academic information into engaging messages with the ability to “make it make sense” to both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
Creating standardized best practices, procedures, and job aides to ensure effective development and review of People.Health content.
Coordinating paired writing opportunities with subject matter experts
Annotating and referencing materials for medical/legal review as needed
Ensuring that all written materials meet educational objectives.
Working with internal art direction teams.

What We Are Looking For

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree, DDS, PharmD, PhD or equivalent level of education preferred.
Minimum five (5) years of experience within the public health or pharmaceutical industry
Current knowledge of developments in the medical and public health fields
Knowledge and experience in medical writing or regulatory compliance writing
Knowledge and experience in regulatory affairs is a plus
Full proficiency with Google, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Strong organizational skills including project data storage while maintaining simultaneous projects
Creative thinking but must also possess sound analytical skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced/deadline-driven team environment
Superior written and communication skills

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
