At Inc. Business Media, interns don’t get sent on coffee runs; they’re too busy doing serious work. The magazine, which is itself owned by an entrepreneur, has a well-established, well-supervised internship program that has helped produce many successful journalists over the years (including several current staff members). You’ll be directly involved in the overall editorial process, seeing your stories develop from start to finish.
Salary range: $16-$20 per hour. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, industry, and education.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
An internship at Inc. Business Media is an especially good opportunity for aspiring business journalists, but any with an intense curiosity about the way the world works will find it an enriching professional and personal experience. Applicants should have a drive to cover business and a capacity for hard work on deadline. They should have experience reporting, writing, and fact checking for their college newspapers, in previous internships, or at other publications, and be able to handle a schedule that includes some late nights. They should follow current events, be sticklers for accuracy, and have a can-do attitude.
The position will involve some researching, writing, and fact checking for the print magazine, and it will also consist of blogging, pitching story ideas, producing slideshows, reporting, and writing for Inc.com. The candidate should be prepared to write daily, and handle many other tasks as assigned and should have a diverse skill set and an interest in multiple aspects of the business. This individual will receive practical experience in the general workings of a forward-thinking, national magazine and its website.
