Infopro Digital group are recruiting for a Staff writer/ Assistant editor on a permanent basis for our Central Banking brand to join our London offices.
Central Banking is looking for a journalist, preferably with previous experience in the financial and economic press, to join our team as a staff writer/ assistant editor. The successful candidate will write (and may cover daily news desk editor duties) for our daily information service. They will write original news stories, analysis articles, longer features and conduct interviews with senior central bankers. The staff writer will also play a key role in the benchmarking and awards process, contribute video interviews and be prepared to moderate conference panels.
As a Reporter/Assistant Editor, you will be responsible for researching and writing news articles, features, and interviews on a variety of topics related to the industries we cover. You will also assist in the editorial process, including copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking, to ensure the accuracy and quality of the published content.
Reports to: Editor-in-chief, Central Banking
Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for journalism and strong writing and editing skills. You should have a keen eye for detail, excellent time management, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
Develop extensive knowledge of the subject matter
Research and write agenda-setting exclusive stories to tight deadlines
Develop high-level contacts within the industry
Potentially cover news desk editing duties
Lead research and write-ups for benchmarks and awards
Find, attend and cover industry events
Work flexibly, both in hours and location
Travel
Requirements
Proven experience in journalism or financial related field
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Excellent research and interviewing abilities
Knowledge of AP Style or other editorial guidelines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Experience with digital publishing platforms is a plus
Degree in journalism, communications, or related field is preferred
Passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and current events
