Infopro Digital is recruiting for a Reporter to join its award-winning Insurance division.
An integral part of Infopro Digital’s stable of internationally respected brands, Insurance Post, the award-winning news and information service for the insurance sector is looking for a reporter to join its team and help keep readers abreast of developments in this fast moving industry.
Established in 1840, the brand has a great reputation for nurturing and developing well rounded and respected journalists, with a number of former employees moving onto the nationals in recent year or remaining within the insurance industry.
The main responsibilities are to produce high quality news, analysis, features and profile interviews to agreed regular deadlines for Insurance Post under the guidance of the editor and news editor.
Key responsibilities
Consistently produce high quality editorial copy for Insurance Post and contribute to the daily news feed on www.postonline.co.uk
Meet regular deadlines
Represent Insurance Post in the market and attend key events, both within and outside normal office hours.
To establish and maintain contact with relevant and prominent people within the insurance industry and associated businesses and trade bodies.
To help generate ideas for news and features
To undertake any other reasonable requests made by the editor and news editor
Performance will be measured by
Quality, quantity, relevance, accuracy and creativity of copy produced
Adherence to schedules and general punctuality
Responsibility, initiative, diligence and efficiency with which detailed duties are undertaken
Attitude to and involvement in the editorial team effort
Acceptability as a representative of Insurance Post and InfoPro Digital
Requirements
Ideally the candidate will have 18 months of local news or B2B reporting experience, preferably with news writing as the focus
Experience using tools such as spreadsheets for acquiring and analysing data.
Experience of working with audio and visual media would also be beneficial and while not a pre-requisite it will form part of the role.
Ability to produce accurate, engaging, and analytical copy to a high standard and in accordance with our house style.
Fluent written and spoken English is imperative.
High level of organisation, time management and attention to detail.
NCJT qualification or equivalent would be an advantage but not essential.
Able to act as an ambassador for the company and its publications, maintaining high standard of integrity and ethics.
A team player inclined to work towards group objectives.
