Contract Life Editor

Insider is hiring a contract Life editor to work with our entertainment team. This person would support the entertainment team with edits while managing a small team of reporters, with the guidance of the deputy editor. As an editor, you would edit a mix of stories about anything under the entertainment umbrella including topics such as movies, TV, celebrity coverage, and more. Stories can include high-impact reported features, analysis pieces, as-told-to stories, slideshows, and quick news hits. The editor would also vet pitches from their reports and assign them stories. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller and a careful, thorough editor who values creativity, accountability, and diversity of ideas and opinions. We’re looking for a passionate generalist with an attention to detail that can take our stories to the next level.
