Contract Senior Data Graphics Editor

Insider is hiring a Contract Senior Data Graphics Editor to join our editorial graphics team for a five month period. This role will be overseeing a team of designers and developers to produce data graphics and visualizations for our biggest stories. They will report to the Design Director who oversees the graphics and photo teams. There is an opportunity for this role to convert to full-time, but is not guaranteed. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful leader and expert data graphics designer who also has an extensive technical background to guide interactive projects from concept to finished product. This role will be responsible for assigning, editing, and project managing graphics, interactives, and larger-scale projects, like custom mini-sites built outside of our cms. This person should have a passion for data journalism, visual storytelling, and problem solving. The Data Graphics team is made up of three developers, one designer, and two fellows and services our global newsroom of nearly 700 journalists and editors.
