Editor-in-Chief, Life

Insider is looking for a visionary Editor-in-Chief for its Life division. The ideal candidate is brilliant and bold, and has a keen sense for stories and trends that will break the internet. This person has a deep love for journalism, and understands how to tell stories that delight, inspire, and inform a large and diverse audience. The Life division has more than 60 journalists working across the US, the UK, and Singapore, and covers topics including entertainment, digital culture, influencers, sex, relationships, health, parenting, travel, cooking, and design. The Life EIC’s mission is to captivate this audience through a range of stories, from stunning visual features to deeply reported investigations, from listicles to personal essays. This EIC is driven by publishing stories that have enormous readership — and by knowing that enormous readership means the newsroom is financially sustainable and able to invest in itself. This person gets fired up over crushing metric goals, but refuses to do so by publishing anything other than sharp and memorable work.
