Tech Contributors Fellowship (SUMMER 2022)

Business Insider is looking for a paid tech contributors fellow to be part of the Contributors and Freelance team, working closely with the Tech desk. The contributors desk works across the newsroom to bring some of the most interesting personal essayists, columnists, and dogged freelancers into Insider’s fold. The tech contributors fellow will seek out people working at the most impactful tech companies today — everything from buzzy start-ups raising millions in funding to the established tech giants we interact with every day — and interview those people to develop original “as-told-to” first-person articles and essays. This is a great opportunity for early-career journalists looking to learn and experiment with character-driven storytelling formats. They’ll help us expand our freelance and contributor coverage on our tech vertical and help the team connect with new people and writers across the industry. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in how tech impacts businesses and society, great interviewing skills, and endless curiosity about people’s lives, careers, and stories. Previous professional writing and storytelling experience is a huge asset.
