As the InStyle Senior Commerce Editor on the evergreen team, you will be responsible for helping to create and maintain the beauty and fashion content on the site. Your main goal will be to assign, edit, and publish best of roundups for the evergreen libraries. This includes a focus on tested stories, coming out of our NYC lab as well as survey-based and on-staff editor testing. This role focuses primarily on fashion as you will work hand in hand with the Senior Commerce Editor for beauty, however knowledge and interest in both topics is important to the success of the team.
This role works directly with the rest of the evergreen commerce team as well as the growth/SEO team. We also work closely with InStyle’s news & deals and editorial teams to support guidelines for updates and standards, as well as to ensure that our articles are accurate, inclusive, comprehensive, and accessible.
About the Role:
Edit 25-35 evergreen stories per month
Work within a monthly and quarterly budget
Manage a commerce writer
Source and onboard new beauty and wellness writers
Work within Looker, Skimlinks, and Amazon Affiliate to monitor sales
Utilize Google trends, SEMrush, and other SEO tools to optimize our stories for search
Prioritize day-to-day needs alongside special projects, and support your team’s goals, while also taking into account organizational priorities and changes
Report revenue and traffic to stakeholders
Help provide feedback on product lists and methodologies for upcoming product tests
Analyze insights and results after a test to select the best products to recommend
Pitch new best of keywords and brainstorm other commerce concepts for the vertical
Work in conjunction with the other senior editors on the team to strategize long term on how to target seasonal and high-priority articles at their peak times
Collaborate with team members, editorial, growth, and social to optimize our content for our readers and search
Assist our News & Deals team during peak holiday shopping events, as needed
About You:
4-5 years of editing and management experience at an online publisher
A deep knowledge and understanding of the fashion and beauty industries
Strong communication and organizational skills
A self-starter who can pivot seamlessly as new initiatives and directives are identified and adjusts processes accordingly
Ability to analyze testing results, distill the most pertinent data, and craft it into an engaging and informative product roundup or review
Open to new challenges and excited to grow within a fast-paced, expanding and constantly evolving organization
Proficiency in project management tools like Airtable, Excel, Google Sheets
CMS experience required
Bachelor's degree of equivalent experience required

Pay Range
Salary: $66,500 - $95,000
