The Proposal Writer partners with the Intelligence Federal proposal team to develop compelling visual and written responses that succinctly address the requirements outlined in Federal Government requests. The ideal candidate is a detailed oriented contract Proposal Writer with previous experience writing responses to Federal Government request for proposals (RFPs) and request for information (RFI).
Role Type: PART TIME, CONTRACT. 10-20 hours per week.
Location: REMOTE
Responsibilities:
Review, analyze, and break down Federal Government Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Quote (RFQ), Requests for Information (RFI), and similar documents
Author a variety of proposal sections, including technical approaches, management plans, and other content, and integrate proposal content authored by other writers into cohesive, compliant technical proposals
Demonstrate an ability to sift through existing documentation or discussions, extracting the most significant information and action items
Meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, reviewing, and approval
Consolidate and draft the solution text across all writers, so text flows in one voice throughout the proposal response
Leverage existing content from corporate repository of past performance, technical solution, and other boilerplate materials to develop compliant responses
Format all volumes on proposal projects, ensuring document layout is aligned to the Solicitation and company branding requirements
Conduct independent research as needed to develop compelling and compliant proposal responses
Work with subject matter experts as needed and incorporate feedback into proposals
Identify gaps and risks to solicitations/responses and work with team members and leadership to resolve them
Qualifications:
Federal Proposal Writing: 3-5 years. (Unfortunately we cannot consider applicants without this experience.)
Experience writing Professional Services (especially staffing) proposals a plus
Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications or other related discipline
Ability to fully comprehend federal solicitation documents, RFP Section L/M, Statements of Work and Performance Work Statements, and cost/pricing requirements
Demonstrated bid and proposal experience, with willingness to share writing sample.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
Ability to work under tight deadlines and on multiple documents
Highly organized, proactive, and collaborative
Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to meet milestones and deadlines
