Job Overview: As the Senior SEO Manager you will play a pivotal role in shaping our digital content strategy and optimizing both our in-article content and site infrastructure for search engines with the end goal of significant audience development. You will work closely with editors, content creators, and developers to enhance the SERP ranking on articles and overall search equity for a variety of sites within the IBT family of media publications covering sports, tech, science, music, and global news. You will use data to identify strategic audience opportunities in international markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Overall Strategy: Help develop a comprehensive, data-informed SEO strategy across a variety of global media publications aligned with the company’s objectives.
SEO Infrastructure: Oversee technical audits of site infrastructure and collaborate with developers to implement SEO recommendations, ensuring site health and performance.
Keyword Research: Conduct thorough research to identify high-value keywords, relevant trends to target, underserved topics, and regional traffic opportunities.
Reporting: Utilize SEO tools like SEMRush, Ahrefs, Google Trends, and Google Analytics to track and report on key performance metrics, including audience demographics, providing actionable insights for continuous audience development
On-Page Optimization: Optimize on-page elements, including meta tags, headings, content, and site structure for improved search engine rankings.
Article Optimization: Collaborate with content creators to optimize the in-article headlines, URLs, section headers, teasers, and body copy
Link Building: Develop and execute link-building strategies to improve domain authority and enhance backlink profile.
Competitor Analysis: Monitor and analyze competitor SEO strategies and SERP rankings to identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

At least 7 years of SEO experience in digital media, with a successful track record of driving organic traffic growth and successful SEO strategy implementation for a media publication.
Bachelor's degree in Digital Marketing, Journalism, Media, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus
In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices in digital media, ranking factors, search engine algorithms, technical SEO, and media industry trends.
Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs or Moz.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
