Édition André Paquette (EAP) is one of the only publishers of bilingual newspapers in Ontario and Québec, covering the communities of Clarence-Rockland, Alfred & Plantagenet, Russell Township, The Nation municipality, Casselman, Champlain Township, Hawkesbury and East Hawkesbury, and communities in the MRC d'Argenteuil, Québec.

Duties:

Identify the week’s most significant, relevant news for EAP readership
Research and write clear, concise stories for print and online publishing
Cover topics such as municipal politics, police and emergency services, community events and organizations, school boards, sports, and arts
Take photos to accompany stories
Participate in newspaper layout using InDesign
Post articles to the EAP website (wordpress)
Work collaboratively in a newsroom environment (EAP offices are hybrid, journalists are expected to be on the ground in the communities we cover)

Qualifications

2-4 years experience in journalism
Bilingualism: EAP publishes in both French and English. Communicating and writing in both languages is considered a strong asset
Digital photography experience
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is a requirement
