Journalist / Editor

New Posted 18 November 2022 | Remote, United States | Repairer Driven News

Repairer Driven News, (www.repairerdrivennews.com), a leading national business news outlet focused on the collision repair industry, seeks a full-time Journalist/Editor. The position offers a tremendous opportunity for a journalist to tackle a national beat for a national audience of auto body repair, automotive industry and auto insurance professionals. You'll stay on the cutting edge of automotive engineering and auto insurance technology trends while crafting a wide array of business news content relevant to the day-to-day operations of the thousands of small businesses at the heart of the collision industry. The position is remote but includes some travel to cover industry summits and the acclaimed SEMA Show. We're looking for a self-starter, one who's comfortable and productive given a high degree of autonomy to write stories, develop sources, learn a beat and apply journalistic best practices. Clean, speedy news-focused writers able to produce content daily while developing longer stories and interviews in the background are critical. The position will work side-by-side with another editorial content director, taking a team approach to editing each other’s work. Production expectations are typically 2 completed stories per day, per writer. Journalists with experience covering breaking news, or a business beat with similar production pace will be prioritized. This is a role for a seasoned reporter who wants to make editor-level calls, or an editor desiring to get back into the thick of things as a journalist. Perks include competitive pay and a family-like environment from the publisher, the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) trade organization. We value our journalists here! Send a resume, references, cover letter and five writing samples to Society of Collision Repair Specialists Executive Director Aaron Schulenburg, aaron@scrs.com.
